Program Test Manager / Test Stream Leader

Since July 2006 I was working for Amdocs at T-Mobile in Hatfield as a Test Stream Leader. I was responsible for testing the complete DR (Disaster Recovery) project.

I have successfully lead, according to plan, the capability test. Signoff is received from the business by IS Quality, two weeks before the deadline. This was an important Amdocs project milestone. During this test I have lead a total of 17 persons:

Management 24 h shifts Normal WH
T-systems 1 Project manager 1 TSL storage
1 TSL DBA
1 TSL Unix

Amdocs

1 Project manager

1 Amdocs Infra
1 Amdocs Storage
3 Amdocs Support

1 Amdocs DBA

1 Amdocs Unix

2 Amdocs Test

T-Mobile

1 Operations manager

2 Operators

After this milestone I received signoff on time and according to plan for:

  • Sanity test (1 week, 4 testers).
  • Regression test manual (5 weeks, 4 testers) and automated using WinRunner scripts (2 weeks, 1 tester).
  • New Functionality test (2 weeks, 4 testers).
  • In parallel with the other testing I managed the interface testing (6 weeks, 2 testers).
  • I coordinated the development of the test tools (2 weeks, 1 tester offsite).
  • I was leading the Performance Test to proove the DR solution meets the KPI's agreed with the client (T-Mobile) (8 weeks, 4 testers).
  • The non production test (e.g. development environments) (2 weeks, 2 testers).
  • The Business As Usual tests (BAU) are planned after my contract has ended, however I have organized those as well.

I was permanently leading 5 to 6 testers, 2 automation testers and 2 performance testers onsite. During the project I was leading a total of 9/10 people permanent onsite depending on the phase of the project. There were also offsite, remote testers in Israel and India working for the testing stream. I have managed them as virtual teams and have visited them in Israel 3 times.
